ROCANVILLE ONE WIN AWAY FROM TITLE

ROCANVILLE ONE WIN AWAY FROM TITLE

Mike Stackhouse

Ashley Howie scored three goals while defenseman Brett Hope scored two in the first period in lifting the Rocanville Tigers to a convincing 7-2 win over the Canora Cobras on Saturday night and a 2-0 series lead in the best of five SaskEast final.

Much like game one, the Tigers managed to score in bunches in order to put the game out of reach.  Howie and linemate Ryan Regel (1-3-4) both ended up with four point games as the TIgers built on a 3-1 lead with a 4-2 advantage after forty minutes and then they salted it away with three goals in less than five minutes at the midway stage of the third.

Taylor Thompson added a goal and an assist for Rocanville, who can sweep the series and win their second title in three years with a victory next Friday (March 29) in Canora.

Ryley Stefanyshyn set up both Scott Mickoski goals to account for the scoring for Canora.
