LATE COCKBURN GOAL GIVES AXEMEN SERIES TIE

Carter Cockburn's second goal of the game came with 20 seconds remaining in the third period and boosted the Swan Valley Axemen to a 6-5 win over the Theodore Buffalos and allowed the Axemen to notch the best of five series at one win apiece.

Cockburn finished with four points on two goals and two assists as the Axemen battled back from 4-2 down early in the third to take a 5-4 lead on goals by Josh Tripp, Evan Morden, and Jackson Betcher.

Zach Korchinski tied the game with 2:25 remaining but Cockburn got the winner two minutes after that.

Morden, Cockburn, and Tripp all ended up with four point games.

Logan Calanchie, Dan Wilson, Keenan Taphorn, and Kaeden Taphorn also scored for Theodore.
