GRANDVIEW SOLIDIFIES PLAYOFF POSITIONING

The Grandview Comets further solidified their playoff positioning by doubling up the Ituna Avalance 6-3 on Saturday night.

The Comets are 5-and-8, the Avs are 5-and-9 and both teams have 10 points, three more than the Wapella Blackhawks and four ahead of the Cote Selects.

Dylan Ushkowski led the offense with two goals and he also assisted on goals by Steegan Stoski and Mitch Drysdale.  Warren Jubenville and Brett Ewanyshyn rounded ou the scoring for the Comets who have a crucial Sunday afternoon game against Cote.

Delon Smysniuk, Jayden Ritchie, and Drew Hoehn scored for Ituna.

Meanwhile, the Swan Valley Axemen built a 3-0 lead, watched it evaporate, then got a goal from Jackson Betcher to stop the Buffs' 3-goal run, and held on for a 4-3 decision over Theodore.

Darcy Riddell scored twice and Ryan Braun once for the Stamps.

Derrick Scwhartz had two for the Buffs and Jordan Evans picked up one as Theodore now sits 10-and-3, while the Stamps lead the North at 12-and-2 are four points up on Theodore.
