The Swan Valley Axemen scored three goals six minutes apart in the early portion of the second period to complete a comeback from 2-0 down to defeat the Rocanville Tigers 4-3 on Friday night.
Both teams are now 11-and-2 after the result with the Axemen leading the 10-and-2 Theodore Buffalos by two points. The Buffs downed Cote 11-6 on Friday night.
Josh Tripp scored twice for Swan Valley with Jackson Betcher and Jeff Riddell also scoring.
Defensemen Brett Hope (with two) and Stephane Robidoux accounted for the Tigers goals.
Meanwhile, in Kamsack, the Buffs got five unanswered in the third to break up a back and forth affair that was knotted at 6 after two.
Derrick Schwartz got a hat trick and five points. Mackenzie Flett, Zac McIntyre, and Keanan Sperling all finished with two goals each.
Kailum Gervais had a standout game for the Selects, tallying four and factoring in on the team's other two, both scored by Zach McGriskin.
Durban Hleboff got a shutout for Canora as they blanket Ituna 7--0. The Cobras are firmly entrenched in third in the North, while the Avalanche fall to 5-and-8 and sit three points up on the Wapella Blackhawks for third in the South.
Three teams are taking part in Saskatchewan Hockeky Association provincials with Rocanville facing Wadena on February 20th in Senior B.
Langenburg and Bethune play on February 13th in Senior C.
Theodore meets Lucky Lake on February 20th in Senior D.
