The Cote Selects scored three shorthanded goals and also fought back from a 7-4 deficit, only to fall 9-8 to the Canora Cobras. Skyler Hladun broke a 7-7 tie in the third with his second of the night but former Cobra Brennan Watson quickly tied it back up before Colby Jacob notched the winner, spoiling a valiant effort from Braidon Berezowski, who came on in relief between the pipes when it was 7-4.
Meanwhile, Carter Cockburn ripped five goals to lead the Swan Valley Axemen past the Ituna Avalanche 11-2. Jeff Riddell added a pair and four points, while Josh Tripp had a hand in five Axemen goals. Devan Renkas tallied both for Ituna.
On Friday, Langenburg whipped Grandview 14-1 as Rylee Zimmer led the attack with four goals and three assists. Derek Falloon had a big game with a goal and seven helpers while Brock Trotter added a pair of tallies and finished with a six point game.
In Rocanville, the Tigers blanked Swan Valley 4-0 on the strength of Dakota Berezowski's shutout. Defenseman Brett Hope had two for the Tigers.
