The SaskEast Hockey League has, tentatively, grown by four teams for the 2022-23 season.
At a league meeting on Tuesday night, expansion applications from Cote and Wapella were accepted (with conditions) as well as intentions from good-standing members Langenburg and Hudson Bay to ice teams this upcoming season.
This grows the league from the five competing teams last year to nine for the upcoming season as the defending champion Rocanville Tigers and last year's runner-up Theodore Buffalos are joined by the Canora Cobras, Whitewood Orioles, and Ituna Avalanche as well as the new entries Cote Selects and Wapella Blackhawks. The Langenburg Warriors and Hudson Bay Hunters are also slated to return after a one year hiatus in 2021-22.
