The Sask East Hockey League is announcing the official cancellation of the 2020-21 season.
With time quickly passing us by and with no indication of an avenue from the provincial government with regards to a potential start date, the league's teams have determined it to be in the best long term interest to plan for 2021-22 and hope for better outcomes.
Senior hockey is a crucial element to many small communities in Saskatchewan and, often, it's what best identifies some of these towns to those who would be, otherwise, unfamiliar.
The survival of senior hockey in these areas is vital for rural Saskatchewan and we strongly urge those making decisions to keep in mind this important, but often overlooked, fact when determining safety measures in the future.
